Boat 915 2022
Kosher with a sales permit
Varieties: 100% Syrah
Growing area: Northern Golan Heights, Tel Shifon vineyard at an altitude of 915 meters above sea level
Date of harvest: 7.9.22
Production Process: A significant winter with several snowfalls and a great growing season culminated in an early September harvest morning. This was the first time the winery had experimented with whole-cluster and whole-berry fermentation. The grapes were divided into 3 different tanks. Two tanks fermented whole-berry and fermented with different yeasts and extraction techniques, and another tank fermented whole-cluster. At the end of fermentation, the parts were combined and transferred to aging in 400-liter oak barrels made for us in Burgundy, France (20% of which were new), where the wine spent 16 months, a third of the time on its lees.
Tasting Notes: The wine has prominent fruity aromas and flavors in purple and red tones alongside smoky fleshiness, Mediterranean spices and earth, light body and low alcohol. A long and rich finish resulting from early harvest and fermentation with whole berries and clusters.
